1. Scope and acceptance
These Terms govern access to and use of Remote Tab Opener Manager, including, where applicable:
- the RTO browser extension;
- the RTO website and documentation;
- public examples, helper files, downloads and SDK resources;
- the RTO Copilot knowledge package or assistant-oriented resources;
- any no-code, builder, workflow, demo or automation-related features;
- any paid, professional, custom or support services provided by Digitech in relation to RTO.
By installing, accessing, downloading, using, testing or integrating RTO, you agree to these Terms.
If you act on behalf of a company, organisation, client, employer or other legal entity, you confirm that you are authorised to bind that entity to these Terms.
If you do not agree with these Terms, you must not use RTO.
2. Definitions
In these Terms:
- “RTO” means Remote Tab Opener Manager, including the browser extension, public website, documentation, SDK, helper files, examples, no-code resources and related services.
- “Extension” means the RTO browser extension published through official browser stores or otherwise made available by Digitech.
- “Website” means the RTO public website and any related documentation pages.
- “User”, “you” or “your” means any person or entity using RTO.
- “Professional User” means a business, developer, integrator, organisation, public body, freelancer or person acting for professional purposes.
- “Consumer” means a natural person acting outside trade, business, craft or profession.
- “Controlled Tab” means a browser tab managed through RTO according to the documented bridge and permission model.
- “Allowlist” means the list of approved domains or hosts authorised by the user or by the extension-side approval flow.
- “Copilot” means documentation, prompts, knowledge packs or assistant resources intended to help users understand or build RTO flows.
- “Services” means any free or paid services related to RTO, including support, configuration, workflow design, no-code tools, consulting or custom development.
3. Product purpose
RTO is a local-first browser extension and integration tool. Its purpose is to allow authorised web pages to interact with approved browser tabs through a controlled local bridge.
RTO may allow supported pages or integrations to:
- detect the extension;
- open, reuse, focus, update, list or close controlled tabs;
- request allowlist approval;
- use documented helper functions or SDK resources;
- run guided or no-code workflows where available;
- display visual guidance such as overlays or cursor-like indicators;
- assist with support, training, debugging, demonstrations or controlled browser workflows.
RTO is not designed to bypass browser security, website security, authentication systems, same-origin policy, paywalls, access controls, anti-bot protections or any third-party terms of service.
4. Local-first and user-controlled model
RTO is designed around a local, user-controlled model.
The extension does not give websites a general right to control the browser. Website-side actions are limited by the documented bridge, the browser environment, user choices, browser permissions, extension permissions and the allowlist model.
You remain responsible for deciding which domains, pages, workflows and integrations you authorise.
Authorising a domain or workflow in RTO only reflects your local permission choice inside the extension. It does not mean that the owner of a third-party website has authorised your use of that website, and it does not replace your obligation to comply with third-party terms, workplace rules and applicable law.
RTO may refuse, block, ignore or fail to execute actions where:
- a domain is not allowed;
- the requested URL is invalid or unsupported;
- the target tab cannot be resolved;
- the browser or extension blocks the operation;
- a security rule applies;
- the page structure changes;
- a selector is missing or unstable;
- the browser, extension store or operating system changes behaviour;
- the request is malformed, unsafe, excessive or unsupported.
5. No guarantee of uninterrupted service
RTO, the Website, examples, downloads, documentation, helper files, Copilot resources, no-code tools and any hosted services are provided without any guarantee of uninterrupted availability.
Access may be interrupted, degraded, suspended or discontinued due to, among other things:
- server failure;
- hosting outage;
- DNS issue;
- SSL/TLS certificate issue;
- browser store review or suspension;
- extension update or compatibility issue;
- third-party service outage;
- maintenance;
- cyberattack, abuse or excessive traffic;
- force majeure;
- legal, technical, security or operational reasons.
You acknowledge that temporary or permanent discontinuity may occur.
Unless a separate written service level agreement is signed by Digitech, no uptime, continuity, response time, support time or availability commitment is provided.
For free services, Digitech may suspend, restrict, modify or discontinue all or part of RTO at any time without compensation.
For paid services, any applicable remedy is limited as set out in these Terms or in the specific written agreement signed with the customer.
6. Free services and experimental features
Some parts of RTO may be provided free of charge.
Free services are provided “as is”, “as available” and without warranty.
Experimental, beta, no-code, Copilot, workflow, overlay, automation, demonstration or developer features may change, break, be removed, be renamed or be discontinued without notice.
The presence of a feature in an example, roadmap, changelog, documentation page, demo or Copilot resource does not guarantee that it will remain available or suitable for production use.
7. Paid services, professional services and custom work
Digitech may offer paid services, including but not limited to:
- professional support;
- custom workflow design;
- integration assistance;
- no-code builder access;
- templates;
- debugging assistance;
- training;
- consulting;
- custom development;
- client-specific packages.
Paid services are governed by these Terms and, where applicable, by a separate quotation, order form, invoice, statement of work or written agreement.
In case of conflict, the signed written agreement or accepted quotation prevails over these Terms only for the specific paid service concerned.
Unless expressly stated otherwise in writing:
- prices are exclusive of VAT and taxes;
- invoices are payable within the payment period stated on the invoice;
- all work is performed on a best-efforts basis;
- delivery dates are indicative;
- changes in scope may require additional fees;
- third-party costs, hosting, store fees, APIs, domains, subscriptions or tools are not included.
Digitech may refuse, suspend or stop paid work if invoices remain unpaid, if the requested work is unlawful, unsafe, abusive, technically unreasonable, incompatible with RTO’s safety model, or outside the agreed scope.
8. Consumers and professional users
RTO is primarily intended for developers, integrators, organisations, professional users and technically informed users.
If you are a consumer, you benefit from mandatory consumer protection rights under applicable law. Nothing in these Terms limits rights that cannot legally be waived.
Where paid digital content or digital services are supplied to consumers, specific legal rules may apply, including rules on pre-contractual information, conformity, withdrawal rights and remedies. Any immediate access to digital content or services may require your express consent and acknowledgement where legally required.
If Digitech offers a paid consumer product in the future, additional consumer-facing terms or checkout notices may apply.
9. Browser stores and third-party platforms
RTO may be distributed through third-party platforms such as browser extension stores.
Those platforms are operated by third parties and are subject to their own rules, review processes, availability, policies, technical requirements and terms.
Digitech is not responsible for:
- browser store outages;
- listing delays;
- review decisions;
- takedowns;
- ranking changes;
- store policy changes;
- browser API changes;
- extension signing or distribution issues outside Digitech’s reasonable control.
The availability of RTO in a browser store does not create any guarantee that it will remain available forever in that store.
10. Third-party websites and content
RTO may interact with third-party websites, browser tabs, pages, forms, dashboards, tools or services when authorised by the user.
Digitech does not control third-party websites and is not responsible for:
- their content;
- their availability;
- their security;
- their legality;
- their terms of service;
- their layout changes;
- their selectors or DOM changes;
- their authentication systems;
- their anti-automation policies;
- data entered into or extracted from them;
- consequences of using RTO with them.
You are solely responsible for ensuring that your use of RTO with any third-party website is lawful and permitted by the relevant third-party terms.
11. User responsibilities
You agree to use RTO responsibly and lawfully.
You must not use RTO to:
- access systems, pages, accounts or data without authorisation;
- bypass security controls, authentication, authorisation, paywalls or technical restrictions;
- scrape, harvest or extract data where you have no right to do so;
- send spam, abusive requests or automated harmful actions;
- mislead users;
- perform credential theft, phishing, surveillance or malware-related activity;
- interfere with third-party services;
- violate privacy, data protection, intellectual property or contractual rights;
- create unsafe, deceptive or abusive workflows;
- use RTO in high-risk environments where failure could cause death, personal injury, financial loss, legal breach or operational damage.
You are responsible for:
- your allowlist decisions;
- your workflows;
- your target URLs;
- your scripts, snippets, helper usage and integrations;
- your selectors;
- your data processing activities;
- your compliance with applicable laws and third-party terms;
- testing before production use;
- backups and fallback procedures.
12. No high-risk use
RTO is not designed, certified or intended for high-risk, safety-critical, regulated or mission-critical environments.
You must not rely on RTO as the sole mechanism for:
- medical decisions;
- financial trading;
- emergency response;
- legal compliance automation;
- industrial control;
- transport safety;
- security-sensitive account administration;
- irreversible transactions;
- production operations where failure may cause significant damage.
Any use in such contexts is at your own risk and requires your own independent controls, validation, monitoring, human supervision and legal review.
13. Copilot, AI-related resources and generated outputs
RTO may include or refer to Copilot resources, prompts, assistant knowledge packages, AI-assisted guidance or generated examples.
Such resources are provided for convenience only.
They may be incomplete, inaccurate, outdated, unsuitable or misunderstood by an AI system or by the user.
You must independently verify:
- generated code;
- configuration;
- legal text;
- security assumptions;
- selectors;
- workflows;
- technical guidance;
- integration logic;
- business decisions.
Copilot resources do not create professional, legal, financial, security, medical or compliance advice.
Digitech is not liable for decisions made solely on the basis of AI-generated or assistant-generated outputs.
Where Copilot or assistant features rely on a third-party AI platform, your use of that platform may also be governed by that third party's own terms, privacy policy and data handling rules. You should not submit confidential, sensitive, personal or regulated information to an AI assistant unless you are authorised to do so and understand the applicable third-party terms.
In case of inconsistency between Copilot-generated guidance and the official RTO documentation, the official documentation should be treated as the reference source.
14. Documentation, examples and SDK resources
Documentation, examples, helper files, SDK resources, snippets, demos and downloads are provided to help users understand RTO.
They are not a guarantee of suitability, completeness, compatibility, security or production readiness.
You must review, adapt, secure and test all code before using it in a real environment.
Examples may use demo domains, simplified flows, reduced error handling or illustrative assumptions.
Digitech may update, remove, rename or restructure documentation, examples, helper files or SDK resources at any time.
15. Security model and limitations
RTO is designed to support a controlled and explicit permission model. However, no software is perfectly secure.
Digitech does not guarantee that RTO is free from bugs, vulnerabilities, compatibility problems or misuse.
You must:
- keep your browser updated;
- install RTO only from official or trusted sources;
- verify domains before allowlisting them;
- avoid approving unknown or untrusted sites;
- review integrations before deployment;
- monitor abnormal behaviour;
- report security concerns responsibly.
Digitech may restrict features, block behaviours, change APIs, modify examples or release updates to address security, stability or abuse concerns.
16. Intellectual property
Unless otherwise stated, RTO, the Website, documentation, examples, text, visuals, branding, structure, design, SDK resources, helper files and related materials are owned by Digitech or its licensors.
You receive only a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use RTO according to these Terms.
You may not:
- claim ownership of RTO;
- remove copyright, attribution or legal notices;
- redistribute paid or restricted resources without permission;
- use the RTO name or branding in a misleading way;
- reverse engineer, decompile or attempt to extract non-public parts of the extension except where permitted by mandatory law;
- present RTO as your own product unless expressly authorised in writing.
Unless a separate license notice states otherwise, public snippets, examples, helper files and SDK resources are provided only for the purpose of understanding, testing and integrating RTO. You may adapt them for your own integration, but you do so at your own risk and without warranty. RTO names, branding, documentation, design, visuals and non-public extension code remain protected and may not be copied, rebranded or redistributed as a competing product without written permission.
If a specific file, package or repository contains a separate license notice, that specific license applies to that file, package or repository.
17. Feedback and contributions
If you send ideas, bug reports, suggestions, examples, workflows, improvements, text, code or other feedback to Digitech, you grant Digitech a worldwide, free, perpetual, irrevocable and non-exclusive right to use, reproduce, modify, adapt, publish and integrate that feedback into RTO without compensation, unless otherwise agreed in writing.
You confirm that you have the right to provide such feedback and that it does not infringe third-party rights.
18. Data protection and privacy
Use of RTO may involve technical data, browser state, page URLs, user actions, preferences, logs, diagnostics or other information depending on the feature used.
The processing of personal data, if any, is described in the applicable Privacy Policy.
You are responsible for ensuring that your own use of RTO complies with data protection laws, including where you use RTO in relation to personal data of customers, employees, users, students, patients, clients or third parties.
If you use RTO as part of your own website, workflow, business process or client service, you are responsible for your own privacy notices, legal basis, security measures, retention rules and data processing obligations.
19. Analytics and site measurement
The Website may use privacy-friendly analytics to understand which public pages, downloads or resources are useful.
Where analytics are used, Digitech intends to avoid advertising trackers, behavioural profiling and unnecessary personal data collection.
Details, if applicable, are provided in the Privacy Policy or cookie/analytics notice.
20. Availability of downloads and updates
Downloads, helper files, SDK packages, documentation packages, examples or Copilot packages may be updated or removed at any time.
Digitech does not guarantee permanent access to any specific version, file, package or download URL.
You are responsible for maintaining your own backups of versions that you rely on.
Extension updates may change behaviour, remove unsupported behaviour, fix bugs, modify APIs or introduce compatibility requirements.
21. Support
Unless a separate written support agreement applies, support is provided on a best-efforts basis only.
Digitech does not guarantee:
- response time;
- resolution time;
- availability of support;
- compatibility with every website;
- correction of every bug;
- custom integration assistance;
- ongoing maintenance of third-party workflows.
Support may be refused or discontinued where the request is abusive, unlawful, unsafe, outside the documented scope, technically unreasonable or unpaid.
22. Warranties disclaimer
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, RTO and all related resources and services are provided “as is” and “as available”.
Digitech disclaims all warranties, whether express, implied or statutory, including but not limited to warranties of:
- merchantability;
- fitness for a particular purpose;
- uninterrupted availability;
- compatibility;
- accuracy;
- security;
- non-infringement;
- absence of errors;
- absence of vulnerabilities;
- suitability for production;
- successful execution of workflows;
- successful interaction with third-party websites.
You use RTO at your own risk.
23. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Digitech shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, punitive or consequential damages, including but not limited to:
- loss of profits;
- loss of revenue;
- loss of business;
- loss of opportunity;
- loss of goodwill;
- loss of data;
- loss of access;
- workflow failure;
- downtime;
- business interruption;
- third-party claims;
- costs of substitute services;
- damage resulting from third-party websites;
- consequences of user-configured workflows;
- consequences of server failure, hosting outage or browser changes.
For free services, Digitech’s total liability is excluded to the maximum extent permitted by law.
For paid services, unless a separate written agreement states otherwise, Digitech’s total aggregate liability for any claim arising out of or in connection with the paid service is limited to the lower of:
- the amount actually paid by the customer to Digitech for the specific service giving rise to the claim during the three months preceding the event; or
- EUR 100.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for intentional misconduct, fraud, liability that cannot be excluded under mandatory law, or any other liability that applicable law does not allow to be excluded or limited.
24. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Digitech, Francesco Ruffo de Bonneval, officers, representatives, contractors and partners from and against any claims, damages, losses, costs, liabilities and expenses arising from:
- your use of RTO;
- your workflows;
- your integration;
- your violation of these Terms;
- your violation of law;
- your violation of third-party rights;
- your use of RTO with third-party websites;
- your data processing activities;
- your misuse of documentation, examples, SDK resources or Copilot outputs;
- any content, data, URL, selector, command or configuration supplied by you.
This obligation does not apply where the claim results exclusively from Digitech’s intentional misconduct or liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law.
25. Force majeure
Digitech shall not be liable for delay, failure, interruption or non-performance caused by events outside its reasonable control, including but not limited to:
- hosting failure;
- DNS failure;
- internet outage;
- power outage;
- browser vendor changes;
- browser store decisions;
- API changes;
- cyberattack;
- malware;
- war;
- strike;
- epidemic;
- natural disaster;
- legal or administrative restrictions;
- failure of third-party services;
- hardware failure;
- software dependency failure.
26. Suspension and termination
Digitech may suspend, restrict or terminate access to RTO, downloads, hosted resources, support, paid services or user-specific services where:
- you breach these Terms;
- payment is overdue;
- your use creates legal, security, operational or reputational risk;
- your use is abusive, unlawful or harmful;
- a third-party platform requires it;
- a technical or security issue requires it;
- Digitech discontinues the relevant service.
You may stop using RTO at any time.
Termination does not affect clauses that by their nature should survive, including intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnification, payment obligations, governing law and jurisdiction.
27. Changes to RTO and to these Terms
Digitech may modify RTO, the Website, documentation, features, APIs, examples, SDK resources, pricing, support scope or these Terms at any time.
Material changes may be announced through the Website, changelog, documentation, store listing or other reasonable means.
Continued use of RTO after changes means that you accept the updated Terms.
If you do not accept the updated Terms, you must stop using RTO.
28. Commercial references
Unless otherwise agreed in writing, Digitech may refer to non-confidential public uses of RTO in general terms.
Digitech will not knowingly publish confidential client workflows, private business information or personal data as case studies without permission.
If a customer provides a testimonial, logo, public reference or case description, Digitech may use it for marketing unless otherwise agreed.
29. Confidentiality
If Digitech provides custom services and receives confidential information, Digitech will take reasonable steps to protect such information.
Confidentiality does not apply to information that:
- is already public;
- becomes public without breach;
- was already known lawfully;
- is independently developed;
- must be disclosed by law, court order or competent authority.
A separate non-disclosure agreement may be signed for sensitive professional projects.
30. Export, sanctions and compliance
You must not use, export, re-export or provide access to RTO in violation of applicable export control, sanctions, anti-corruption, anti-money laundering, cybersecurity or other compliance laws.
You confirm that you are not prohibited from using RTO under applicable sanctions or trade restrictions.
31. Notices
Notices to Digitech may be sent to:
Digitech Invent SCS

3090 Overijse, Belgium
Contact: via the contact form on the Website or by email at support@remote-tab-opener.com
Digitech may send notices by email, through the Website, through documentation, through browser store release notes or by any other reasonable means.
32. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found invalid, illegal or unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in force.
The invalid provision shall be replaced or interpreted, to the extent possible, by a valid provision that most closely reflects the original economic and legal intent.
33. No waiver
Failure by Digitech to enforce a right or provision does not constitute a waiver of that right or provision.
Any waiver must be express and in writing.
34. Assignment
You may not assign or transfer your rights or obligations under these Terms without Digitech’s prior written consent.
Digitech may assign or transfer its rights and obligations in connection with a restructuring, transfer of business, merger, sale of assets, product transfer or legal reorganisation.
35. Entire agreement
These Terms, together with any applicable quotation, invoice, written agreement, Privacy Policy, documentation notice or specific license notice, constitute the entire agreement between you and Digitech regarding the relevant use of RTO.
They replace prior oral or written discussions relating to the same subject matter, unless a specific signed agreement states otherwise.
36. Governing law
These Terms are governed by Belgian law, without prejudice to mandatory consumer protection rules that may apply in your country of residence.
37. Jurisdiction
Subject to mandatory rules of consumer law and rules that cannot legally be waived, any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms, RTO, the Website, the Extension, documentation, services or related commercial relationship shall fall under the jurisdiction of the competent courts of Nivelles, Belgium.
Before initiating court proceedings, the parties shall first attempt in good faith to resolve the dispute amicably.
38. Consumer redress note
The former European Online Dispute Resolution platform has been discontinued. Where consumer dispute resolution mechanisms apply, consumers should refer to the competent national or European consumer redress resources available at the relevant time.
Nothing in this clause limits mandatory consumer rights.
39. Practical safety reminder
RTO is intended to help trusted users and trusted web pages manage controlled browser workflows more safely and transparently.
It should not be used as a hidden automation tool, a security bypass, a scraping engine, a surveillance mechanism or a substitute for professional validation.
Always test workflows before use, keep a manual fallback, and verify important actions before relying on them.
